Kosher Lamb Starter Box 4 — Bone-In Shoulder, Ribs & Foreshanks
Kosher Lamb Starter Box 4 — Bone-In Shoulder, Ribs & Foreshanks
Our largest kosher lamb starter box offers a traditional selection of bone-in cuts from locally raised, pasture-raised lamb.
This assortment is especially well suited for slow cooking, braising, and making flavorful cooking juices. The lambs were young, so some of the rib cuts are petite and lean.
All cuts are individually vacuum-sealed and frozen.

Suggested Cooking Instructions
Bone-In Shoulder Roast: Rub with garlic, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Brown if desired, then braise covered with a little broth at 300°F for approximately 2½–3½ hours, until fork-tender.
Ribs: These are bone-in, relatively lean ribs. For best results, season and braise covered at 300°F for approximately 2–3 hours until tender. Uncover briefly at the end to brown the surface.
Small Rib Rack: Because this rack is only 0.30 lb, it is best cooked gently or added to a braising dish rather than roasted for a long period on its own.
Foreshanks: Brown the shanks in a heavy pot, add onions, garlic, herbs, and broth, then cover and braise at 300°F for approximately 2½–3½ hours until the meat is tender.
Traditional Whole-Animal Cooking
These cuts reflect our approach to using the whole animal thoughtfully. Bone-in lamb is particularly well suited to slow cooking, where marrow and connective tissue can add depth and richness to the finished dish.
